Time is starting to go by way too fast!  Less than 2 weeks until I go back to work.  Though I’m ready to go back, I’m not ready to give up my days with Landon.  Today we cuddled most of the day.  Landon woke up a little more grouchy than usual and was just fussy most of the day.  He was willing to sit in the swing for a little while today.  The top picture is how he started the day off and the bottom picture is how he ended the day.  Of course he had his thumb to soothe him.

His weight today: 10 lbs 2 ozs.

Landon woke up from his nap on Saturday with a battle wound.  He scratched himself so bad that it was bleeding :(

Yes, I know....it's been a while since I've updated the blog.  However, this doesn't mean there hasn't been anything to post.  Quite the contrary.  We've been busy and we have the pictures to prove it.  The past week or so has been full of many firsts for Landon.

Last weekend was Landon’s first Valentine’s Day.

Grandma and Grandpa Aberle were in town for the weekend.  They had so much fun playing and spending time with Landon.  Grandma also read aloud to Landon the 2 special books they brought to him for a V-day present.  We all went out for a V-day dinner, Landon slept through most of it.  It was so fun to have them here and to spend time with him with our little man.

Landon also received another V-day present from Grammy & Grandpa Menold.  They sent him 2 stuffed animals (a pig and a V-day lion) and an outfit, which the shirt says “Little Man” (a nickname that Dave & I have been calling Landon since day 1).

Isn’t it obvious how much his grandparents adore him?!  He’s so blessed to have 2 sets of grandparents that love him so much!!!

Yes, he's still sucking his thumb (usually when he is hungry or fussy).

On Tuesday, Feb. 17, Landon was 4 weeks old.  This included another trip to the dr.’s office.  He weighed 9 pounds 11 inches and was almost 23 inches long!  He has grown so much in the past 2 weeks, and has started filling out nicely.  He is starting to get chubby cheeks, a double chin, and getting some meat on his legs – so cute!!!  Landon wasn’t very happy to get weighed at the dr.’s office, mostly because he didn’t like being undressed.  The Dr. called him Mr. Perfect, something that Mom already knew ;)

The week ended with Landon turning 1 month old on Friday, Feb. 20.  To celebrate Landon & Mom went shopping ~ he’s a great shopper!  He slept the entire time.  Grammy & Grandpa Menold came in on Friday evening.  While they babysat we went to out for the evening for a nice dinner at Citizen Kane’s and dessert at Ted Drewes.  It was so nice to spend some time with each other to reflect on Landon, changes that have come with him and how our lives will forever be changed with him in our family.  All of the changes have been so worth it - we love him so much!

Wow - I cannot believe our little man is 3 weeks old already!  (The Landon elephant was a gift from Dave's co-worker - isn't it cute?!)  Landon has really grown in the past week.  He's gaining weight and getting long, but he's losing his "newborn look" mostly because he's staring to fill out.  He loves sitting in his bouncy seat when he's awake and loves laying on our chest when he's sleepy.  I just can't get enough of his sweet baby scent!

The past week has been busy.  The ENT dr. determined that Landon was tongue tied, so he clipped his tongue in the office last Wednesday.  It was amazing to see Landon start using his tongue immediately!  Before he never moved his tongue, now he moves it around and sticks it out all of the time.  We think this was part of the problem with him not breastfeeding correctly.  The only problem with getting his tongue clipped is that he had to re-learn how to suck his thumb.  He's still gets really ticked at his thumb & tongue because it doesn't work how it used to.

Grammy was here last week to help Mommy out with things around the house,  and, of course, to spend some quality time with Landon.  It was so much fun having her here!  Landon misses all of her kisses and "talks" this week :)  And Mommy misses the extra set of hands.

This week marks the first time I've been left alone all day with Landon.  So far, so good!  Each day has been a little different.  On Monday, he wanted to sleep most of the day.  Tuesday, he wanted to be awake most of the day.  We'll see how his schedule changes tomorrow :)  He eats regularly every 3 hours, that is the one thing that doesn't change.  He isn't shy about letting us know when he's hungry.

Last week we also ventured to the mall for an evening.  Grammy & Mommy are trying to teach Landon how to be a good shopper like his dad & Grandpa!

Landon was 2 weeks old yesterday!  We went to the dr. for his checkup and he is almost back to his birth weight @ 7lbs 15 ounces, and has grown a 1/2 inch.  The past week has been busy trying to figure out his schedule and Landon was 2 weeks old yesterday!  We went to the dr. for his checkup and he is almost back to his birth weight @ 7lbs 15 ounces, and has grown a 1/2 inch.  The past week has been busy trying to figure out his schedule and adjusting to life with a baby.  Landon has slept great the past two nights, letting mom, dad, and Grammy get about 4 hours of sleep between feedings.  He is eating pretty regularly every 2-3 hours during the day.

So some of you might be wondering “Who is Grammy”?  Grammy is what my mom decided she wanted her name to be J  Grammy is here for the week to help me out since Dave went back to work this week.  It’s been so wonderful to have her here to help me with everything around the house and she’s been taking the late night feedings with Landon.  Next week will be the real test to see if Dave & I can balance all of these responsibilities on our own…I’m hopeful that everything will be fine.  Dave can’t wait to get home from work in the afternoons to see Landon.  In fact, he really doesn’t let Landon out of his arms until we go to bed.  It’s so awesome to see how they have already bonded.

Landon had 2 very special visitors last week.  He met Nanny & Pa for the first time.  They came to visit last week on their way to Arkansas and stopped back by earlier this week on their way home.  They couldn't be more proud of the little guy.  Nanny had a hard time sharing Landon with Pa, but Dave & I would sneak Landon into Pa's hands a few times while Nan wasn't looking :)  Nan had so much fun with Landon.  She enjoyed every minute with him!  She was also reassured that she still knew what to do with a baby.   Good thing, because she is going to be watching Landon when I go back to work in March.  Nan has graciously offered to take care of Landon until he's "a little bigger" to go to day care.  Dave & I are thrilled that she wants to do this, it will be so much easier to go back to work knowing that Landon is with the best babysitter ever.

We went for an outing last night to go meet Landon’s first friend.  We visited the Swinigan family and got to see their little one, Daphne, who was born 3 days before Landon.  He is a pound and a half bigger than her!  Both babies were so great during our visit.  God has blessed both families with these 2 very healthy, perfect babies.
