Lillian is 2 weeks old!  Lillian got to meet some special people this week.  Nanny & Pa and Uncle Noah & Whitney came in to meet her for the first time.  Grammie & Grandpa also came down.  Of course, Landon was thrilled to see them, too!  He was getting a little bored with just Mom & Dad the week previous.

Lilli is growing so quickly!  She still has much of her newborn look.  At her 2 week dr. appt. she was back at her birthweight, 8 lbs. 3 ozs., and has grown 3/4".  Since she is back at her birthweight, I have been letting her wake me up when she is hungry (rather than waking her every 3 hours).  She still wakes on her own every three hours, sometimes stretching out to four hours - I appreciate that extra hour!  Her personality is calming down a bit, too.  Her cry isn't quite as agressive as it was when she was first born.  She likes to be swaddled tightly, rocked/swayed, and sleeps on her side.  Thank goodness for Dr. Karps "Happiest Baby on the Block" - a must read for all parents with a newborn.  She also likes to be outside - the summer weather instantly calms her down.

Dave went back to work this week, so Grammie stayed the week to help me out with the kiddos.  Landon has had so much fun with Grammie!  I really appreciated her help with Landon, the laundry, cooking and cleaning, and running errands.  THANKS-A-MILLION MOM!!!

Summer is here and Landon is enjoying every minute of it!  He LOVES to be outside.  Landon started the month off in the Ozarks and ended it by welcoming home his new baby sister, Lillian.  Landon had a BIG growth spurt this month, after not growing much for a few months.  He grew 2 shoe sizes and is now starting to wear some 2T clothes.  Landon is an explorer - he will work and work at something until he figures it out (true sign of a future engineer ;) ).

Boating in the Ozarks Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day weekend at a cabin with Grammie & Grandpa, Aunt Whitney & Uncle Scott, and Uncle Noah & Whitney.  Landon got to spend the remainder of the week at the cabin with just Grammie & Grandpa.  We went boating around the lake and played at the pool (he didn't really like swimming in the lake or pool).  Landon had so much fun feeding the ducks off of the side of the boat.  Landon also enjoyed many stroller rides.

Grammie & Landon at Ted Drewes

Grammie & Aunt Whitney came in for a day visit mid-June.  They spent the day with Mommy & Landon shopping and having lunch in Chesterfield.  We all enjoyed frozen custard at Ted Drewes on the hot summer afternoon before they left for home.  Landon shared a banana split with Grammie - YUMMY!

Landon "helping" Daddy in the garage

Landon LOVES being outside.  Since he & Dad get home before mom in the afternoons, they usually are working on something outside or in the garage.  Lately Dave has been working on the boat motor, so Landon is more than happy to "help" Dad work on the motor or anything else he can find.  He explores every tool and widgit that he can find in his dad's tool boxes :)

Trip to the Zoo with Daddy

Landon & Daddy had a guys day at the zoo.  They had so much fun riding the train (they sat in the front!).  Landon enjoyed looking at all of the animals...giraffes, elephants, monkeys, penguins, hippos, and many more!

Lillian is 1 week old!  Many people have asked us if we are going to shorten her name or call her by her full name.  We are calling her Lillian or Lilli.  Dave calls her 'Lil Miss :)

We're all adjusting to being a family of four.  Lilli and Mommy came home from the hospital on Father's Day.  It was a special day.  We were welcomed home by Landon and both sets of grandparents, and the wonderful lunch that they prepared.  It was so nice having the grandparents here to help with Landon while we were in the hospital over the weekend.  THANK YOU Grammie & Grandpa and Grandma & Grandpa Aberle for all you did!!!

Dave was off of work the first week we were home.  It was nice adjustment period for all of us.  We took Lilli to the dr. for her newborn visit, weighing in at 7 pounds 8 ounces.  She lost a little bit of weight, but nothing to be concerned with.  She made herself known at the dr. office with her very strong cry.  She came into the world with a very strong cry, which we are all trying to adjust our ears to.  In response to her cry, Landon has started a very loud shrieking noise.

Overall, Landon is adjusting really well to having a little sister.  He doesn't care if Dave or I are holding her, but he wants to be right by our side with us.  If she cries, he wants to go check on her immediately.  When we arrived home from the dr. visit, I set the infant seat with Lillian in it on the kitchen floor (she was sleeping).  I stepped away and hear Landon talking....I look over and he is squatted down in front of the infant seat talking to his little sister and running his little finger down her nose gently.  It was so sweet!  Too bad I didn't have my camera, but the image will forever be with me.

Enjoy the pictures of week 1! :) :)

In preparation for the baby, we decided to move Landon to a toddler bed.  He adjusted surprisingly well.  The first night he cried for 5 minutes, but we haven't had a problem since.  He climbs into bed before his nap/at night, and doesn't get out of bed until we open the door at the end of his nap/morning.

Landon met Uncle Scott & Aunt Whit's cow, Bentley for the first time.  He was screamed at first, but then he warmed up to Bentley.  He even let Bentley lick his finger.

Lastly, Landon had a rough month with bumps & bruises.  He ended up with 2 black eyes on the same weekend from falls, and countless scrapes and bruises on his knees and legs.  He is all boy and is constantly on the go.  He doesn't walk - he runs!  Sometimes his little feet can't keep up with his energy and he take some nasty falls.  Luckily he bounces back really well.

We spent Easter this year in Morton.
We welcomed home the newest Aberle cousin from Etheopia, Tripp, on Good Friday.

On Saturday we spent time with the Menold extended family.  We enjoyed our annual Easter brunch, decorated easter eggs, and made goofy glasses.

We spent time with Grandma & Grandpa Aberle and the Rugaards on Easter Sunday.  Landon was able to participate in his first Easter Egg hunt in Grandma & Grandpa's backyard.  He had so much fun collecting the eggs and playing with his cousins.  He also had fun exploring what was in his Easter Basket from the Easter Bunny...not really interested in smiling for the camera, though.

Landon had a fun-filled 1st Halloween.  We hosted a chili supper at our house with all of our friends in the evening.  He had so much fun playing with his friends.  After supper the kids decorated sugar cookie pumpkin cut outs - they did an excellent job at decorating the cookies! :)

Landon is 9 months and SO BIG!  At his 9 month checkup he weighed in at 20 pounds 15 ounces (50th percentile) and measured at 30 inches (95th percentile!).  His head is finally catching up and comes in at 46.5 cm (75th percentile).  He two vaccine shots and 1 flu shot and didn't cry much at all.  His pediatrician commented on his curiosity.  Landon does not miss anything going on around him.  He will watch and listen to everything happening around him.

Landon is now in the exploring phase.  He examines every toy to see what it can do...he will push it, shake it, and chew on it.  He likes to crawl around to check everything out, he pulls himself up to stand, and cruises the furniture like a pro.  He really wants to climb, but hasn't succeeded...yet.  He is a great eater and will try anything.  If he doesn't like something, he has this little scream to let us know he isn't pleased with the taste.

His biggest accomplishment is that he has FINALLY stopped spitting up.  Over the past month his spitting issue has subsided.  He occasionally spits up (like all babies do), but doesn't have to have a bib around his neck all day.

Landon got his first hair cut.  Mommy's good friend and hair dresser cut his hair on Oct. 24th.

I'm not sure if there's anyone who ever checks our blog any more....it's been a while....OK - a loooooong while - since I've posted any updates.  We've just been having too much fun.  However, I know there are a few faithful blog followers who would like to see an updated picture of Landon every once in a while.  So, it's my goal to resume blogging.  I'll also be playing catch up, so you'll see some posts from our summer.  We hope you all are doing well.  Keep checking back for more pictures and updates.
